The Truso valley is one of the most beautiful and at the same time easiest hikes in the Kazbegi region. The path follows the young Tergi river upstream through a wide valley framed by steep mountain slopes.

Along the way you will discover natural wonders: mineral springs bubbling out of the ground, a small lake with carbonated water and shimmering travertine terraces in shades of white, orange and red. Further up the valley lie abandoned villages with stone houses and old watchtowers that tell of the region’s eventful history.

As the path gains hardly any height, the hike is ideal for families and anyone who wants to experience the mountains without steep climbs.
